In Deep Shia

Strange as it may seem, there are actually people out there who make a living (a healthy one at that) off of celeb mishaps. On one hand, it's easier for celebs to get into trouble since there's always someone with a camera following them around. On the other hand, you'd think that celebs would realize this is going on and make a point to be model citizens...but if that were truly the case TMZ, US weekly, Star, E.T. and the National Inquirer would have nothing to talk about.

One pill that is particularly hard for the pubic to swallow is the celeb who despite fame and fortune, seems to continuously travel to Trouble City. Shia LeBouf is one such star. This young Hollywood A-lister who got his start on the Disney Channel, finds his way into tabloid headlines every few months. About a year ago, LeBouf made news when he was arrested for his drunken misconduct at (of all places) a Walgreen's drug store. A few months later, he was involved in a reasonably serious car accident in Hollywood. The accident gave LeBouf a broken hand and got him into hot water when news broke that his passenger was Transformers 2 co-star, Isabel Lucas, who has a boyfriend. The reason for them traveling together at around 2:00 a.m. has never been made public and both stars have been dodging questions about it since.

The latest bit of LeBouf news to make headlines also involves his driving. It seems as though LeBouf was arrested recently for suspicion of driving under the influence. When he was pulled over, he refused a breath test (which is legally allowed). However, it's grounds for immediate arrest and typically police can enforce a blood test later once they get you booked and a license suspension is usually in order. Taking that approach typically raises suspicion about one's lack of sobriety but in rare cases it can pay off for the drunk driver if they can 'sober up' enough before they're tested. LeBouf got lucky and police weren't able to mount enough evidence to get the DUI on him. However, the story leaked out and LeBouf's public image has been further tarnished. Furthermore, as of January 21st, 2009, LeBouf's license has been suspended for a period of one year and fines will be assessed.

Despite legal and automotive woes, Shia LeBouf is still one of the biggest stars on Earth. He can be seen in the upcoming film, Transformers 2 and will be the lead actor in upcoming Indiana Jones films.
