Lily Allen

Born and raised in Hammersmith, England, Lily Allen had far from a normal upbringing. As the daughter of a comedian/actor and a film producer, Allen had access to entertainment-based influence from a very young age and was never shy around a spotlight.

Today, we all know Lily for her musical efforts. Her first album was an international smash hit and this February, the world will get their first listen of her sophomore effort. Aside from the tunes, Lily can currently be seen on BBC Television on her own series, Lily Allen and Friends. The show is loosely base on the musician rise to fame through the use of Myspace. While she is currently only contracted to do one season, there has been talk of more TV work.

Although only 23, Allen has already experienced a lifetime's worth of success. However, her career hasn't been without it's fair share of controversy. Lily's biggest issue seems to be her mouth. She has repeatedly received media scrutiny for criticisms and comments that she has let fly publicly. The majority of which have been made against fellow musicians or against some manner of political issue. The other culprit contributing to certain woes has been her lifestyle. With mass fame often comes mass partying. The majority of Lily's off-handed comments have taken place when she stumbles out of a nightclub or Hollywood party. While she admits to substance use problems in her past, Lily claims to be cleaning up her act to secure herself a healthier future (which she seems to actually be doing due to a lack of tabloid features in recent history).

With music and television both showing some love for Lily, things are definitely looking promising for this young British import of many talents. Check out Lily Allen.
