Artist: Black Moth Super Rainbow
Album: The Autumn Kaleidoscope Got Changed
Release Date: January 2010
You can call it pop, electro, synth rock, experimental post-hip hop...basically, call it whatever you want. Black Moth Super Rainbow is one of those few groups that defies standard classification and push the boundaries of what is considered 'music' every single time they write a new song.
The 5-piece band hails from the Pittsburgh area of Pennsylvania but not much more is known about them (seriously). Having started in 2002, the various band members have done a rather efficient job of keeping their identities relatively secret. The enigmatic aura only adds to the band's mystic appeal.
The Autumn Kaleidoscope Got Changed is a remixed and re-worked collection of the group's early material. Like previously mentioned, this music is much different than anything you've heard before. It's sort of trippy, space-like and definitely experimental.
